Social Tennis

Boskruin is renowned for its brilliant social tennis, with players coming from far afield to join in the games. 

Playing social tennis is lots of fun, as well as a great way to get some tennis match practice without the pressure. Visitors are welcome - just arrive at the club and give your name to the committee member on duty. They will assign you to a doubles match that roughly matches your level of tennis.

The fees for socials are as follows:

Tennis League

Boskruin Tennis Club takes part in most of the leagues organised by Tennis South Africa. In order to represent Boskruin in the league, you must be a member of the club. Each league runs for 5-6 weeks. There are different leagues for mixed doubles, men's and ladies' doubles, men's and ladies' singles, and for juniors. Once you join the club, you will receive regular communication informing you about the upcoming leagues and you'll have the opportunity to join one of the teams playing in the league.

Club Championships

The Boskruin Tennis Club Championships take place annually in September/October in the following groupings: 

  • Open Championships
  • Veteran's Championships
  • Master's Championships

Club Champs follows a knockout structure, but players who are knocked out in the first round are entered into a plate championship, which runs concurrently to the main championship.

Ladies' Tennis

Every Tuesday and Thursday at 8:00am, there is a ladies' tennis social at the club. Ladies of all ages and abilities are invited to come along and enjoy a few sets of social tennis. No booking is required and both members and visitors are welcome (R30 court fee for visitors).

Ad hoc court usage

Members can use the courts for free at times when the courts have not been booked for other club activities. Members can also book courts for hourly time slots during the week ahead by filling in their names on the club notice board.

Visitors may also use the courts when they are available, however visitors cannot book a court.
